Vivid and Cultivated
Located on the Upper West Side, the apartment was a full gut renovation. This two-bedroom one-bathroom home needed new floors throughout the apartment, interior walls were painted, the kitchen and bathroom were remodeled, and design and decor were updated.

Details about the project and the wants and needs of our Client.
New Floors
Solving a Problem: This client suffered repeated water damage to her oak wood floors. She was hesitant to lay-down new wood floors. She asked me to help her find an alternative. We found these unusual and exquisite porcelain tiles.
Bathroom
"Please replicate the Bathroom from my Childhood Home," asked our Client. The client described the 1920s bathroom, and we replicated it. This timeless black and white look was accented with a sea green pastel paint.
Kitchen
Sourcing Real Wood & Stone: The client was frustrated by her visits to the finest Manhattan showcases where she was shown everything but natural wood. I helped her find a dealer which supplied. Maple wood cabinets made in the USA. I offered her a broad selection of stone and marble countertops, and supervised the installation.
Livingroom
Working in her favorite colors. The client said she didn’t have an idea for a design she just knew she loved orange and green. We went to an estate sale and purchased a 1950s love-seat and sofa. Then I sourced an organic cotton material and had it re-upholsted with down and latex. Now if she falls asleep on her sofa, she has no concerns of breathing chemicals found in most furniture available in stores. The art pieces from her travels were placed in each room with care. Her existing coffee and end tables were arranged to compliment her new furniture.
Master Bedroom
Can you make this work? The client chose a dark and thick wood bed-frame and bureau made by the Amish. At first we thought it was too big and dark for the size of the room. But a careful arrangement and a sitting area by Zinou gave it a spacious look, and allowed her to enjoy her choice.
Final Touches
Fine Touches: Window treatments should be functional as well as decorative. Here we wanted to maximize the view and light, while providing options for privacy and shade. Zinou helped the client select window treatments in the form of roller-shades that do both. As another fine touch, Zinou Interiors helped place and hang the client's art with an aesthetic that complimented and enhanced the room.
